Breakout session #1:

Operational Value Maximization
The global mining industry is facing one of the most
challenging trading environments it has known for a long
time with declining commodity prices and increasing costs.
Achieving sustainable, operational improvements across
the value chain during this time will be critical for mining
organizations to maintain and enhance margins and deliver
long term sustainable value. The path to achieving this goal is a
challenging one with both operational and cultural constraints
compelling leading performers to look at their businesses in
new ways to drive value through their operational activities.
Our panel discussion will explore some of these activities
bringing together the views of a number of mining and
operational leaders.

Breakout session #2:

Accounting & Reporting Update
The IASB continues to change accounting standards that
impact the mining industry. This session will provide an
overview of the recent developments and our panelists will
discuss the hot topics and their related impact to mining
companies. Our panel will discuss the results of adoption of
the new suite of standards during 2013 (IFRS 10, IFRS 11 and
IFRIC 20), current hot topics (accounting for metal streaming)
and give perspectives and commentary on current focus areas
of the Securities Commissions.
