Surveys of Audit Committee Members
To better understand the challenges and issues facing audit committees, our Audit Committee Institute and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) conduct an annual survey of Canadian audit committee members.
2009 Survey Reports
KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute and the Institute of Corporate Directors have completed our 2009 survey of Audit Committee directors,
and the results of this survey are currently being analyzed.
2007 Survey Reports
In 2007, more than 200 Canadian audit committee members shared their views on audit committee priorities and practices. This survey, however, uncovers some significant—and sometimes worrisome—differences between larger and smaller entities. These differences relate to the directors’ assessment of audit committee effectiveness as well as to differences in practices.
As some audit committees strengthen their performance, the bar is raised for all. We therefore encourage audit committees, as well as the executives, boards and professionals supporting them, to consider these survey findings as they examine their own oversight processes and continue their progress towards greater audit committee effectiveness.
Please share this report with your boards and audit committees.
