A Work in Progress: Insights into the views of financial analysts in relation to Australian IFRS

Part of the process of transition to IFRS involves educating the users of financial statements about the new and different ways in which it illuminates the realities of financial and operational performance. Although this report is based on comparative surveys of Australian financial analysts, its findings provide insights that can benefit Canadian enterprises now embarking on a similar transition to IFRS.
In April 2006, KPMG commissioned a survey of Australian financial analysts to determine their familiarity with, and understanding of, Australian IFRS and to follow up on a similar survey in late 2004. Based on the latest survey, this white paper examines the current state of play concerning the introduction of Australian IFRS following the market's first exposure to full year financial reports under the new standards
